Square is the first, and only, Comparison Shopping site exclusively focused on
the Home & Garden market. We have combined depth of product data, detailed
industry expertise, and an advanced user experience to become the single most
valuable tool for product and related services research in the Home &
Garden / Home Improvement market.
We have a community of consumers and service professionals with highly
identifiable target interests, which continually increases the value of our
service to users, merchants, and advertisers.
Categories Overview
Builders Square provides an intuitive and optimized product
category structure that will guide you to what you’re looking for. Each product
in our catalog has been placed within our category structure and we are
constantly reviewing site usage patterns to further optimize this structure.
You can start browsing our category tree right from the
Builders
Square Home page, where we list our top level categories. Just click on
one and you’re off and running!
Search Overview
At the top of every page, you’ll find our Search box. Simply type in a
description of what you’re looking for, and we’ll return a list of products in
our catalog that match your criteria.
Search Tip: Make your search criteria as specific as possible, that way we can
show you the products that are most likely to match what you’ve got in mind.
Using Model Numbers and / or Manufacturer names is always a good way to find a
specific product.
Once you’ve executed a browse or search and have a list of products, you can
refine the results by using the Search Refinement options presented on the left
side of the page. Builders Square maintains an extremely large product catalog
and these refinement options can be very helpful in narrowing down an initial
search result.
Compare Overview
Once you’ve identified a set of like products you’re interested in, you
may view up to 10 simultaneously on a Compare page. From any product listing
page, you will see a check box next to each item. Upon selecting the first item
to compare, the page will highlight similar products that can also be selected
for comparison. You may then check up to 10 products and then click the Compare
button. We will then present those products on a single page, lined up so that
you may compare the specifications of each product against the others.
Me Overview
Builders Square offers many ways in which to personalize the site to fit
your shopping preferences. The Me section of our site provides a single place
to view all your customized areas in a single place. Among these are the
following:
My Products
These are the products that you’ve chosen to keep specific track of on your
main products page. You can add any item to this page from Add to My Products
link on the Product Detail page. Use this feature for quick review of products
you want to track for new merchant offers, lower prices, or just as a reminder
for products you’re interested in.
My Lists
Lists are used as a way to organize products in a way that
makes sense to you. Lists also allow you to see which product other Builders
Square users are interested in, how they’ve organized them, and read any notes
/ comments they may have saved for each product. Products can be added to Lists
directly from the Product Detail page.
My Recent Product Views
Here we’re keeping track of the last 10 products you’ve shown
interest in by viewing the Product Detail page. It’s a convenient way to
quickly return to product you looked at recently.
My Recent Searches
Can’t remember what you typed in the search box that last time you
found what you were looking for? Well, fret no more – we’ve saved your 10 most
recent searches here for easy access. Just click on one, and your back in
business!
My Saved Searches
While using Builders Square, you can save a set of Search results for
future reference. Next time you want to execute that search, simply return to
this page and click on the name of the search.
My Published Pages
We’ve created a way for you to publish groupings of products and allow
other users to view them through a customized web page. As you build a page to
be published, we’ll create a unique web address (URL) that you can send to
anybody (friends, family, clients, etc.).

Create Public Page section.
My Product Comparisons
As you use the Compare Products feature of Builders Square, we’ll create
and save up to 10 comparison groups. Each group can contain up to 10 products
and you can revisit these groups here.
My Builders Square
Here’s where you can choose which product categories are most important to
you and configure your own page to highlight new products and price drops
within those categories – visit the
Configure My Builders Square page to get started or update your current
selections.
My Email
Builders Square offers informative email newsletters for our users. Opt in
to as many (or few) as you like on the
My Email
page.
My Alerts
Alerts allow you to be notified via email or text message when a product
drops below a certain price point. You can set an alert for any product
directly from the Product Detail page by clicking on the Set Product Price
Alert link.
My Groups
Joining Builders Square groups helps you identify users with
similar interests and gives you insight into how people like yourself are using
our site. See the available groups on the
Edit
Profile page and select the ones that describe you best.
Click on a group name to visit the Group Detail page and gain visibility into a
cross-section of Builders Square users. Find their favorite products, most
common searches, and customized product lists.

Here’s where you can peek into how other Builders Square users work with our
site and which products they’re most interested in. Want to refine your
